• Curriculum and Instruction

The AUHSD Educational Services Department works to foster high levels of student learning through work in the following areas: curriculum development, instructional strategies, academic support services, and staff professional development.

AUHSD offers a comprehensive and engaging curriculum based on the California State Standards. The District offers a rigorous curriculum to meet the needs of a student population from which over 97% of graduates continue their education at colleges and universities throughout the United States. AUHSD curriculum is intended to promote intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and independent learners.

The District engages in a thorough process to select curricular materials that align with state and local content standards and support academic achievement. Parents and guardians are able to review AUHSD curricular materials through course syllabi, Canvas course pages, and the AUHSD website. If you have concerns about any AUHSD curricular materials, including concerns related to personal religious beliefs, please contact a school administrator so they can address your concerns.
